Werner Leuenberger (1919–2004) [1]

Leuenberger joined the Swiss Federal Topography in 1936 as an apprentice engraver. Until his retirement in 1984, he was mainly involved in the updating of the Siegfried and Dufour maps and later the national maps. His sporting interests often took him into the mountains, whether on mountain or ski tours. He also combined his love of the mountains and maps by working on relief models. He made a large relief for the Davos mountain railroads, showing this region with the cable cars and ski lifts in winter. He also devoted himself to the restoration of numerous reliefs.
