Maurice Borel (1860–1926) [1]
Borel was born in Neuchâtel, the son of a merchant, and graduated from the Technikum in Winterthur. From the 1880s, he worked as a cartographer in Paris, where he produced a relief of this city and its surroundings, and then returned to Switzerland. Together with others, he directed the publication of the “Geographical Dictionary of Switzerland” from 1902 to 1910. Later, he also created a relief of his native Canton of Neuchâtel.
