Landert is a photographer and ran a photography business in Winterthur until 2006. He came to relief making out of his enjoyment of the landscape and at the suggestion of Fritz Schiesser, a geography teacher from Winterthur, who made reliefs himself. He made them mainly as commissioned works for the nature museums in Frauenfeld and Winterthur. A few years ago he turned to another branch of art.
