Fridolin Becker (1854–1922) [1]
Becker was born in Linthal, the son of a priest. From 1872 to 1876, he studied engineering at the Polytechnic in Zurich (ETH) and then worked until 1894 at the Federal Topographical Bureau for the topographic surveys for the Siegfried Atlas. From 1887 he taught topography at the ETH – first as a private lecturer, later as a full professor. In addition to numerous (school) maps and plans, he also produced some relief models and panoramas.
