André Lasserre (1902–1981) [1]

Born in Veyrier, Lasserre grew up in Paris until 1913. After his school years he studied architecture, and from 1921 to 1925 he was a student of the sculptor Antoine Bourdelle. In 1926 he had the first own exhibition of his works. When he was in Germany during the war, he was deported to Dachau in 1945. After his liberation he went to Marseille before settling in Lausanne in 1951. His materials were stone, concrete and metal. He also designed some coins for the Swiss mint and worked in the field of industrial design.
